The Books are perfectly designed to train/aid students for their technical exercises in VCE Units 3 & 4 Music Solo Performance.
Each of the 15 pieces deals with a particular element of harmony, rhythm or technical difficulty.
The accompanying lessons offer specific exercises to deal with the difflculties and technical challenges that arise in each particular piece.
Therefore, the book contains 15 prime examples to help students not only design exercises to develop technique but also (and perhaps more importantly) to make the link between solo technique work and the technical challenges for each piece.
The VCE course outline states:
- The Solo Technique area of study focuses on the technical aspects of the student's performance work.
- Students prepare a program of technical work designed to help them develop and maintain specific performing techniques relevant to their solo and ensemble performance program, in each unit.
Students are also required to:
- Perform a range of solo technical work and exercises
- Make links between the solo technique work and the technical challenges in the solo performance program for each unit
- Create their own exercises
As the pieces range in difficulty from approx. Grades 2-5 AMEB the accompanying lesson/exercises are perfect for training those in years 7-11 for the requirements in Year12.
Please see the Sample page to Download examples of the exercises and sheet music.
